BIGGS, CA (MPG) - Biggs High School Sports Booster Club held its yearly Mel McLaughlin Wolverine Golf Classic on Monday, July 17th.

The annual event was held at the 18-hole Table Mountain Golf Course outside of Oroville. Student-athletes volunteered to help set up for the tournament and acted as caddies, assisting golfers as they readied to hit the green.

The Mel McLaughlin Golf Tournament honors the man who dedicated his time to the community, taught at Biggs High School for 43 years, coached, and had a passion for the sport of Golf. The golf tournament serves as the only way for BHS to fund its athletic program, often paying for uniforms and other needed sports equipment. Multiple teams of golfers participated, and the event was supported by many sponsors.

A silent auction and dinner were held after the event, to raise even more funds for BHS. Members of the BHS Sports Booster Club would like to thank all the generous sponsors and participants of the 2023 Mel McLaughlin Wolverine Golf Tournament.
