GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Sycamore School students held their annual Shoebox for Soldiers service event in the month of January.

Students collected items from the community, staff and fellow classmates to create care packages or “Shoeboxes” filled with items routinely requested from soldiers stationed across the world. These care packages not only help the soldiers get through their deployment, but also remind them that they are cared for.

Sycamore teacher Michelle Solis, who helps her students organize these service events says, “Thank you to everyone in the community, Sycamore staff and students for all the donations.”

The donations were given to Blue Star Moms out of Yuba City who will then send them out for distribution to our soldiers.

Sycamore’s next service project will be the 2nd Annual Spare Change for Sparrow starting March 6th.
