GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – Local pop-up boutique, Barn Gypsy, held its grand opening last Thursday, June 16th.
The vintage shop owned by Lynne Williams specializes in vintage, retro, mid-century modern, bohemian and luxury goods, some hand-crafted, pulled from auctions or literally barns throughout the area.
Williams has a unique eye and mindful pricing for her wares, displaying them in creative ways that invite shoppers to discover one-of-a kind pieces that she has curated as part of Barn Gypsy. Items are displayed in artistic ways, with surprising touches, such as colorful leaves scattered around displays that are allowed to float down and dance along the floors. The clever displays are just as pleasing to the eye as the wares that Barn Gypsy has to offer.
Not exactly new to Gridley, the pop-up shop opened about a year ago but waited to hold its Grand Opening. In cooperation with the Gridley Area Chamber of Commerce, Williams officially opened her doors to the public and with the support of the Chamber, held a ribbon cutting during the three-hour open house. Members of the Chamber board and Gridley City Councilwomen Catalina Sanchez were in attendance.
The store was packed with attendee’s, some shopping the racks of vintage clothing, ceramics and glassware, and some of the more industrial-styled handmade items. Others socialized and visited with the owner or entered to win a drawing for a $100 gift certificate. A gorgeous spread of hors d’oeuvres, wines, and desserts were just as much of a treat as the items in the store.
Barn Gypsy is located at 556 Kentucky Street in Downtown Gridley. The store will re-open to the public again on July 7-9. For more information, please visit their website at barngypsyvintage.com.
