GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – Gridley’s American Legion Post 210 is organizing a special Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Spaghetti Dinner.

The GWOT Dinner will honor all that have served, but specifically targets younger veterans that served in conflicts or missions during the War on Terrorism. Commander of the American Legion Post 210, Owen Stiles, says that those veterans “don’t seem to be interested in being involved in things (veterans’ groups), but they’re needing the same fellowship and camaraderie” that has been a crucial to his and other veterans’ mental well-being.

He goes on to share that groups like American Legion offer many forms of support for veterans, whether it be representation at a higher level of government for veterans’ resources across the nation, financial/medical help, or for emotional and psychological support.

The Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Spaghetti Dinner will be held on June 11th at the Biggs Hall located at 280 B Street, Biggs. Adult tickets are just $10, Kids 5+ are $5, and children under 5 eat free when dining at the Biggs Hall. To go orders are available, but children under 5 years of age do not eat free when ordering to-go. For tickets, contact your local American Legion member or call Owen Stiles at (530) 846-3251.
