SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher issued the following statement on the Russian invasion of Ukraine: 

“My heart goes out to the Ukrainian families being terrorized by Russia’s aggression. We must do all we can to stand against this threat to democracy. 

“America and the rest of the world need to send a message with resolve that this violation of international law will not be tolerated.

“Thugs like Putin only understand one thing"'strength. If this invasion is not met with devastating consequences for Russia’s economy and elites, tyrants around the world will continue to get bolder.”

Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher represents the 3rd Assembly District, which encompasses all of Glenn, Sutter, Tehama and Yuba counties as well as portions of Butte and Colusa counties.
