67th Gridley Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament is Finally Here!

GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – The sixty-seventh annual Gridley Invitation Basketball Tournament had to wait an additional year to be played but boasts its traditional loaded field. Five of the top eight teams in Northern California per NorCal Prep’s preseason rankings are committed.

This year’s participants are:

Preseason #1 - Campolindo of Moraga led by four-star prospect Aidan Mahaney. Mahaney is ranked as the 110th best prospect in the class of 2022 according to Rivals.com and is signed with St. Mary’s. Other potential division one prospects include Cade Bennett and Logan Rubeson.

Preseason #3 – Salesian of Richmond led by four-star prospect Tyler Harris. Harris is ranked as the 87th best prospect in the class of 2023 according to Rivals.com. Other potential division one prospects include Austin Johnson, Amani Johnson, and Alvin Loving.

Preseason #5 (and defending GIBT Champion) – Dublin High School. The Gaels are led by division one recruits Courtney Anderson Jr. and Donovan Cooks.

Preseason #7 – Sheldon High School of Elk Grove. Top players this year are Rashad Bradley (who has gotten some interest from division one schools) as well as Donovan Morgan, Marcellius Franklin, Troy Creighton, and Devon Hayes (all have received interest from division two schools).

Preseason #8 – Archbishop Riordon of San Francisco. King Wilhite.

De La Salle High School of Concord. Top players (all with division one interest) Billy Hagerty, Javon Johnson, Alec Blair, and Jordan Webster.

Sacramento High School – The Dragons are led by senior Ben Roseborough who has offers from multiple Pac-12 schools. Other top players include Keion Buford, Jayden Morris, and Kendalh Hearne, all of whom have received interest from division one and division two schools.

The Gridley Invitation Basketball Tournament is December 9th, 10th, and 11th. All games will be at Farmers Hall on the Butte County Fairgrounds in Gridley. Game times on the 9th and 10th are 4:00, 5:30, 7:00 and 8:30 pm. On the 11th, the seventh-place game tips at 2:00, the consolation championship game starts at 3:30, the third place game starts at 5:00 and the championship game tips at 6:30. Admission is $5 per day or $12 for a weekend pass.
