The Gridley Bulldogs defense lines up for the next play against West Valley Eagles on November 5th, 2021.
GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Last Friday saw the final game of the regular season for the Gridley Bulldogs before they head into the playoffs.
The JV team took the lead early and continued their pressure ending the game 34-0 Against the Eagles and moving into the Playoffs.
In between games Gridley High School celebrated their final season with a dedication to the Seniors and their parents. Senior football players and cheerleaders lined up across their parents. Cheers and shouts erupted as each athlete presented their parent or loved ones with roses. The Happy Birthday song broke out in the stands as one Football Player crossed the field. After their moment under the lights were done the real action would take place.
It was a fight from the beginning with both teams going 3 and out on their first few possessions. But it was West Valley Eagles that would take the half going 13-0 into half time.
The second half proved better for the Bulldogs scoring two times, but it wasn’t enough in the end. Final Score 27-13 West Valley. The Bulldogs will continue into the playoffs hosting Wheatland this Friday.
