GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Gridley High School Swim Coach Monica Terry beams with pride when she talks about the accomplishments of her swimmers over the course of the 2021 season. That is because the Gridley High School swim team distinguished themselves at one of the highest levels of swim competition in the nation. The Gridley Swim team placed within the top 1% at the United States Masters level swim competition. For those who don’t know, the USMS is a national swimming program that develops swimming talent. While at the Masters, the Gridley swim team was competing against Division I and II schools that have larger talent pools, no pun intended. The Gridley Swim Team will also be sending Gordon LaBuff, Vance Lewellen and Ashlyn Mendenhall to Shasta College next year to swim for the Knights.
