GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – Orchard Medical Specialty Center (MSC) in Gridley and their Medical Specialty Center (MSC) in Oroville have gotten some sleek, new upgrades.

The addition of new Health Monitors in each of the Gridley MSC exam rooms, Physical Therapy waiting area and “Serenity” waiting room, are touch-screen educational tools that invite patients to explore health information in a tablet-like setting. These touch-screen health monitors are large – 23.5” long by 13” wide, typically mounted on the wall, the rotating panels completely silent.

The Health Monitors aid in patient retention of a provider’s instruction by allowing patients to follow their providers’ instructions by engaging them visually during their exam. Providers can bring up images of the anatomy while patients follow along, providing an opportunity for a more thorough understanding of the patient’s illness or treatment process. The monitors serve as a valuable educational tool with anatomical diagrams at your fingertips and information on a host of medical specialties including, but not limited to allergies, back pain, cholesterol, diabetes, digestive health, heart health, joint health, lung health, COVID-19 and more.

The Gridley MSC has been the recipient of 30 of these Health Monitors, courtesy of the company Health Monitor, who has been in the business of medical education for over 37 years.  The Oroville MSC received 7 Monitors total. Both MSC’s offer this technology to their patients as part of a grant procured by Clinic Administrator, Kirsten Storne-Piazza. Their content is updated quarterly, and maintenance is at no cost to the facility.
