CHICO, CA (MPG) - Free dental, vision and medical care will be offered to underserved and underinsured individuals and families in Butte and surrounding Counties, on November 12-14 at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds in Chico, CA. More than 350 volunteer healthcare professionals from throughout California are projected to provide needed care for an anticipated 650 people per day. All services are FREE; clinic participants do NOT need proof of insurance, employment, income, residency, immigration status or an ID to receive them.

A vision lab will produce free prescription eyeglasses on-site. Dentistry will include x-rays, cleanings, fillings, and extractions. Medical doctors will provide consultations, general health exams, and chiropractic services will also be available at the clinic.

In 2019, over 600 volunteers provided more than half a million dollars’ worth of free healthcare services to more than 1,200 patients. “All the... volunteers are the best example of how our society should work for the betterment of all citizens and noncitizens alike…,” said a 2019 Chico Clinic patient. “Thanks for being who you are and helping your fellow humans as you can. Keep up your vitally needed work and thanks again as you have rekindled an older man’s faith in the kindness and caring of fellow human beings...Citizens, support these folks good work!”

Our clinics are made possible by generous donations from our sponsors. This year we’d like to give a special thank you to our platinum-level sponsors America’s Tires – Driven to Care Foundation and North Valley Community Foundation & Butte Strong Fund. We’d also like to recognize American Red Cross and Golden Valley Bank for their contribution to the 2021 Butte County Clinic. Lastly, we would like to thank Placer-Nevada and Yuba-Sutter-Colusa Medical Society, Butte-Glenn Medical Society, Enloe Medical Center, and Butte County Public Health for collaborating with us on this event.

Professional volunteers are still needed in numerous capacities including oral surgeons, dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, dental x-ray techs, ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians, ophthalmic techs, RNs, doctors, EMTs, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, acupuncturists, and chiropractors. General volunteers are also still needed to assist in various roles throughout the clinic.
