Caltrans Proposes Long-term Safety Project in the Lomo Crossing Area

SUTTER COUNTY, CA (MPG) - Caltrans is hosting in-person and virtual community open houses in September to seek public comments about a proposed long-term safety project on State Highway 99 in the Lomo Crossing area between Yuba City and Live Oak.

 The outdoor, in-person event will be Thursday, September 9 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Lomo Cold Storage, 6005 Highway 99 in Live Oak.

 Community members can view displays with project alternatives and review maps and other materials. Caltrans staff members will be available to answer questions and receive comments from the public. The in-person event is subject to change due to COVID-19 restrictions for public gatherings.

 The following week, Caltrans will conduct an online virtual open house via Cisco WebEx from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14.  During the presentation, community members will learn about the project alternatives, view displays and maps and learn where they can submit comments. Caltrans staff members will be available to answer questions and receive comments from the public.

 Caltrans is exploring four alternatives for a long-term safety project to reduce the number and severity of collisions around the intersection of State Highway 99 and Live Oak Boulevard/Encinal Road in the Lomo Crossing area.

 District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties.
