CHICO, CA (MPG) - Operation September Freedom is coming to the Chico Airport in August. Dream Flights is dedicated to honoring military veterans and seniors with the adventure of a lifetime: a flight in a Boeing Stearman biplane. Dream Flights is focusing on WWII Veterans honoring as many World War II veterans as possible with free Dream Flights in 2021.
Of the 16 million Americans who served in WWII, only an estimated 100,000 will be alive in 2021. The youngest will be 95. September 2nd marks 76 years since the signing of the Japanese Instrument of Surrender, which effectively ended the war.
Every day, the Nation is losing the opportunity to celebrate with our WWII Veterans, so in 2021, Dream Flights is dedicating their entire Dream Flight Tour to WWII veterans. Their mission is to honor as many as possible, thanking them for fighting for freedom.
Dream Flights is a non-profit organization established and dedicated to honoring seniors and military veterans. Through donors, community support and volunteers, the foundation provides Dream Flights in a Boeing Stearman biplane, the same aircraft used to train many military aviators in the late thirties and early forties.
Since the launch of Dream Flights in 2011, they have given free flights of a lifetime to more than 4,200 veterans and seniors living in long-term care communities. Fewer and fewer of our Dream Flyers are WWII veterans.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars is available to answer questions, sign up eligible members and talk about our support for the community.
