GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Butte College recently named Nurse Practitioner Jordan Frazer, MSC, NP-C, Employee of the Year!

Nurse Practitioner Frazer grew up in Gridley, completing his undergraduate work in Nursing at Chico State in 2003 before working at Enloe Medical Center in the Emergency Department and Trauma ICU. He then moved on to work for Mountain Lifeflight as a flight nurse in the Susanville area, and decided to pursue his Master’s in Nursing degree at Graceland University. In 2010, Frazer finished his Nurse Practitioner training, with a specialization in Emergency Medicine and Neuro-trauma.

Nurse Practitioner Frazer returned to Gridley in 2011, working as a Nurse Practitioner while also flying for CalStar Air Medical. In 2013 he left flight care and turned his attention to his work as a Nurse Practitioner with a focus on family medicine and pain management. In 2019, he joined the Butte College healthcare team and now serves as the Director of the Student Health Center.

Of his experience at Butte College, Nurse Practitioner Frazer writes, “I feel like I’ve found the opportunity I was seeking to spend time with patients, form trusting relationships, and address health in a multi-faceted manner. The freedom I’m given to give students extra attention when they need it, free of the restriction of third-party payors, has been a refreshing change from traditional practice, where quantity is valued over quality.”

Nurse Practitioner Frazer’s thorough care and dedication during one of the hardest years on record was no doubt one of the reasons that Butte College recently named him Employee of the Year.  Dean of Student Services, Jo Anna Tauscher Birdsall said of Nurse Practitioner Frazer’s selection, “the President and VP’s of her leadership team select the individual who has made a difference for the academic year ending. Jordan was chosen based on his work and collaboration surrounding COVID-19 and campus operations.”

His wife and fellow physician assistant, Stacy Frazer, PA-C, says, “I feel... it’s well deserved. He’s a talented man who works incredibly hard to do the best job possible. He never slacks and never quits. Every place he’s ever worked has been lucky to have him. So am I.”

Frazer continues to go the extra mile, saying, “Still in love with Emergency Medicine I joined Butte County Fire in 2013 and continue to serve as a Firefighter/Engineer.” All while being a dedicated family man and artisan - he enjoys working on his small farm with his family, playing with his 5-year-old daughter, and creating intricate leatherwork masterpieces. To the man who can seemingly do it all - Congratulations!
