Unexpected schedule changes may occur

Valley Roadwork Schedule

Sunday through Saturday, March 14 – 20, 2021

LONG-TERM PROJECTS

Interstate 5 (Glenn County) Work continues on a $9.1 million project to upgrade the water and wastewater systems at the north- and southbound Willows Safety Roadside Rest Areas. The rest areas are scheduled to be closed through December 31, 2021. The Corning rest areas in Tehama County and Dunnigan rest areas in Yolo County remain open.

Interstate 5 (Colusa County) Work continues on a $5.7 million project to upgrade the water and wastewater systems at the north- and southbound Maxwell Safety Roadside Rest Areas. The rest areas are scheduled to be closed through March 31, 2021 when the improvements are expected to be completed. The Corning rest areas in Tehama County and the Dunnigan rest areas in Yolo County remain open.

State Route 20 (Sutter County) Work is wrapping up on a $37.7 million project funded in part by Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, to restore nearly 12 lane miles of pavement between Lytle Road and the Sutter Bypass, widen the shoulders and replace the Wadsworth Canal Bridge. Completion is expected in winter 2021. No traffic-interfering work is scheduled.

State Route 20 (Yuba County) Work continues on a $61.5 million project funded in part by Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, to straighten and flatten roadway curves and slopes, widen shoulders, construct a new bridge and rehabilitate a 4.5-mile section of roadway in the Browns Valley area. Construction is expected to be completed in 2021. Project information and construction updates are available at www.FixYuba20.com  Main highway roadwork is in winter suspension. Dry Creek bridge work adjacent to the highway is scheduled to continue during the winter, depending on the weather.

State Route 20 (Yuba County) Work continues on a $54 million project by Caltrans to straighten curves, widen shoulders, construct a new bridge and rehabilitate a 2-mile section of roadway in the Timbuctoo area. Construction is expected to start this spring. Project information and construction updates are available at www.FixYuba20.com Main highway roadwork is in winter suspension. Freshwater Creek bridge work adjacent to the highway is scheduled to continue during the winter, depending on the weather.

State Routes 20/45 (Colusa County) Work continues on a $19.3 million project by Caltrans, the City of Colusa and Colusa County project million and funded in part by Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, to replace the old pavement, flatten the roadway, construct new sidewalks, curbs and gutters and improve drainage between Market Street and Butte Vista Way. Completion is expected in 2021. No traffic-interfering work is scheduled.

State Route 32 (Butte County) Work continues on a $6.6 million project to upgrade sidewalks, curb ramps and pedestrian signals on 8th and 9th streets between Poplar Street and W. 7th Street in Chico. Construction is expected to be completed in 2021. No traffic-interfering work is scheduled.

State Route 70 (Butte County) Work continues on a $42.1 million project by Caltrans and the Butte County Association of Governments to widen the existing two-lane highway to four lanes with a center median two-way turn left turn lane south of Oroville between Palermo Road and Cox Lane, widen the shoulders and increase the clear recovery zone area for errant vehicles to safely recover and correct direction. Completion is expected in fall 2021. Project information and construction updates are available at www.FixHighway70.com  Project is in winter suspension.

State Route 70 (Yuba County) Work continues on an $83 million funded in part by Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, to replace the Simmerly Slough Bridge. Completion is expected in 2021. Project information and construction updates are available at www.FixHighway70.com No traffic-interfering work is scheduled.

State Route 99 (Sutter County) Construction continues on a $36 million pavement and streetscape project by Caltrans and the City of Live Oak and funded in part by Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, and a federal TIGER grant to replace the old pavement, flatten the roadway, construct new sidewalks, curbs and gutters, upgrade water and drainage systems, and improve traffic signals, bicycle and pedestrian signals between Pennington Road and Elm Street. Completion is expected in 2021. March 15 – 20

State Route 99 (Sutter County) between Ash Street and Nevada Street north: North- and southbound motorists may expect various shoulder, auxiliary lane and lane restrictions from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday for underground waterline, sewer, drainage, sidewalk, curb, gutter, driveway and electrical work.

March 14 – Summer 2021

State Route 99 (Sutter County) at Walker Way: Motorists may expect Walker closed at State Route 99 through summer 2021 for roadway construction. Motorists should use Ash Street or Archer Avenue as alternate routes.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 20 (Yuba County) between Monument Trail and Sicard Flat Road: Eastbound motorists may expect the right shoulder closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday for tree work.

State Route 32, or East 8th Street and East 9th Street (Butte County) between Bartlett Street and the State Route 99 junction: East- and westbound motorists may expect the right shoulder closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday for tree work.

State Route 32 (Butte County) between Santos Ranch Road and County Road N 104: East- and westbound motorists may expect various lane restrictions from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday for tree work.

State Route 32 (Butte County) between Crown Point Road and County Road: East- and westbound motorists may expect various lane restrictions from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday for tree work.

State Route 65 (Yuba County) between Main Street and Evergreen Drive: North- and southbound motorists may expect various lane and shoulder restrictions from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.

State Route 70 (Butte County) between the Pulga-Mill Creek Maintenance Station and the Penstock undercrossing: Motorists may expect one-way traffic control using a temporary traffic signal around-the-clock for bridge work and one-way traffic control with a pilot vehicle from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday for PG&E to perform underground utility work.

State Route 70 (Yuba County) between Ellis Road and Noble Road: Northbound motorists may expect the right shoulder closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday for PG&E to work on power lines.

State Route 99 (Butte County) between Eaton Road and Lassen Avenue: Southbound motorists may expect the right shoulder closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday for tree work.

State Route 99 (Sutter County) between Pease Road and Eager Road: North- and southbound motorists may expect the right shoulder closed and intermittent traffic breaks by the California Highway Patrol from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday to allow a utility

The Caltrans District Traffic Management Branch has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above. Lanes are numbered from the center divide (#1) to the shoulder (#2, 3, 4, etc.).
