The Public is Encouraged to Avoid Non-Essential Travel

PARADISE, CA (MPG) – The Town of Paradise continues to monitor strong winds and possible snow forecast for our area starting Tuesday afternoon Jan. 26th. The Town’s Public Works Department has snowplows and chainsaws ready to clear roadways if needed. The public is encouraged to avoid non-essential travel during any snow event and to be cautious driving in snowy conditions.

Due to the weather, the Government Hazard Tree Removal Program will stand down operations in the Town of Paradise Wednesday Jan. 27 through Saturday Jan. 30. In the County, the Government Program will reduce felling operations starting Tuesday Jan. 26 and will assess conditions for the rest of the week to determine if operations can continue.

If you are aware of trees that pose an immediate threat to life safety, please stay back and warn others in the area.  Please note trees marked in the Government Hazard Tree Removal Program (blue dot, barcode) that have been reported to threaten life safety will not be felled during the stand down. For that reason, extra precautions should be taken.
