Gridley Titans Cancel Season

GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – Three weeks after the official start of Titans football and cheer, the Gridley Titans Youth Football and Cheer Board of Directors announced the cancellation of the 2020 season.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we have decided to cancel our 2020 season. We have hoped and tried to move forward to have a season in this unprecedented time. Unfortunately, with Butte County being put back on the purple tier we know the aspect of a season is not feasible,” the public announcement reads, “Above all the athletes’ health is our number one concern. With the winter here, we will be battling with colds, the flu and Covid-19.”

The club decided to cancel the season instead of pushing it back so that it did not risk reaching a point where refunds to families would not be possible. Refunds will be issued for “any fees you paid minus the costs we put out” by December 15th. The fees can also be applied to the 2021 season, along with fundraising and sponsorship credits. Cash refunds cannot be issued for sponsorships/fundraising.
