The student, whose identity is withheld for privacy, attends Gridley High School and according to Superintendent Jordan Reeves is currently quarantining. The district is working with Butte County Health Department, and other students that may be at risk will be notified and required to quarantine.
According to a report by Action News Now, Gridley High School only notified parents and guardians of students who may have come into contact with the positive coronavirus case. Parents are upset and voiced that they feel it is important for everyone to be notified of confirmed cases in order for their families to take extra precautionary measures.
Gridley schools went back to the classrooms Monday, October 19th without an am/pm, or hybrid schedule, or greatly reduced class sizes. Instead the district is relying greatly on sanitization efforts, masks and social distancing.
