East Avenue. This site is designed to expand medical surge capacity as needed in response to COVID-19.
The site, which is now a Field Medical Station (FMS), will extend the county’s capacity to treat patients requiring hospitalization. An FMS provides support and resolves health and medical capability gaps during public health emergencies that exceed the health care systems.
FMS’s are short term solutions for health care resources and not open to the public. Patients will be admitted to this location after a clinical assessment from a healthcare provider.
The Enloe Rehabilitation Center will be converted and outfitted with 125 field hospital beds and supplies to treat patients in need of hospitalization.
Butte County Public Health worked with Enloe Medical Center to secure the location of the FMS. Because this site was approved, Enloe will be able to provide staff for the FMS and wraparound services such as dietary, housekeeping, etc.
