GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - After a 2-week midseason break, 530 Sports slow pitch softball was back in action again on Monday, August 19th, with the competitive league getting things started at 6:30 PM. The Ball Busters took on the Dirty Birds in a close battle with each team hitting four home runs. The Ball Busters would pull away late in the game to take a 15-10 victory.

Pitches Be Crazy hosted Softball & Chill for the 7:40 PM game. Softball & Chill took an early lead before PBC tied it up at 11-11 in this third inning. In the fifth inning Softball & Chill pulled away and shut out PBC the rest of the game to take a 16-11 victory.

In the final game of the evening, All About That Base faced off against Sons of Pitches at 8:50 PM in a one run differential game. AATB got on the board first, but by the bottom of the fourth inning SOP had taken a 9-4 lead. AATB continued to put runs up on the board for the next three innings and shut out SOP to take a 10-9 victory in 7 innings.

On Tuesday evening, August 20th, the young kids of ATAP took on Team SS. By the third inning ATAP had jumped out to a 9-3 lead and kept Team SS at bay. A late surge by Team SS wasn’t enough and ATAP took their second victory of the season with a score of 12-6.

In the second game of that evening, Team H&H continued their season dominance against the Misfits. The two week break and the loss of a few key college players didn’t faze Team H&H as they put up nine runs in the bottom of the first inning. Team H&H scored in every inning and shut out the Misfits for four straight innings before capturing the 17-9 victory to improve 5-0 on the season.

On Thursday, August 22nd, Maximum Effort took their second win of the season when Default Judgement was forced to forfeit. In the final game of the week, the Knuckle Heads hosted Pitch Please, in a game lead from the first inning by the Knuckle Heads. The Knuckle Heads captured their second win of the season with a 10-4 victory over Pitch Please.
