GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Over one hundred people signed up and participated in the 5th Annual Children’s Hope Foster Family Agency Color Run on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Daddow Park in Gridley. Participants ran a 5K route throughout the city of Gridley starting at one end of Daddow Park and ending at the opposite side of the park. Festivities kicked off with about fifteen minutes of Zumba dancing with Gridley Fitness instructor, Crystal. Color run participants danced and let loose to get their muscles warmed up.
The annual “Color me for Foster Kids!” color run is an opportunity to bring families together in a health driven and fun outdoor activity. As a result, the agency is able to raise money to help foster children with financial needs. The money raised will help pay for medical care, crisis counseling, educational needs, medications not covered by state provided medical care, and extracurricular activities for foster children.
Orchard Hospital, Quota Club, Gridley Lions Club, and Children’s Hope also hosted a health and wellness fair for any participant. The Lions Club and Quota Club conducted hearing and vision tests.
