A Private Funeral Service will be held on April 13, 2018 at Mt. View Cemetery Crematorium and Chapel, in Casa Grande, Arizona for Marine Lerner, of Marana, Arizona, formerly of Gridley. She passed away March 17, 2018.

Marine was born in Cooper, Texas to Vivian Dorcus Wilson and William Harry Wilson, on July 8, 1933. Her family moved to California in 1940 and she spent 74 years mostly in the Butte County area, where she went to school, met her husband, Percel, and raised her family on a small ranch. Marine worked in the Libby, McNeil and Libby Cannery in Gridley for 28 years, retiring in 1998. She was one of the original five volunteers in the RSVP program at the Gridley-Biggs Police Department and was a volunteer with the Pink Ladies for a few years. After moving to Arizona in 2014, Marine was a member of the Tucson Cowbelles and the Arizona State Cowbelles; she enjoyed working at booths handing out beef color books to the kids at the event.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Percel Eugene Lerner.

She is survived by daughters: Terri Rose Ward (Richard) and Tammie Jean McElroy (William); grandchildren: Jacob Raymond Ward and Jessica Rose Ward; brother, Jimmie Wilson; sister, Esther Wilson; along with several half-brothers and sisters.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Gridley in May with further details to be determined.
