"I feel like in my whole life, I have never lengthened my stride so much, I have never been so quick, I have never reached such heights, my vision has never been so wide, and I have never been so stretched as I have in these last 18 months in the mission field. I have also never sweated so much!” These are Lauren Pratt’s thoughts as she completes her full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Arizona Scottsdale Mission. She served the Spanish-speaking people in the cities of Phoenix, Mesa, and Scottsdale.
Pratt focused on miracles during her service, saying “I have done everything possible to show our Heavenly Father that I believe in miracles, and that they can be wrought through a weak and imperfect person such as I. It has been such a faith-building experience to see these miracles take place and to take a moment, be still, and know without a doubt that Jesus is The Christ.”
Pratt will speak to her home congregation, the Spanish Branch, this Sunday, August 26 at 12:10 pm at the Liberty Chapel at 1259 French Avenue. She will also speak to the Young Single Adult Branch at 1:00 pm at the chapel at 400 Spruce Street. Pratt plans to return to BYU-Idaho in January to continue her education. Her parents are Bryan and Denise Pratt.
