A dinner for spillway evacuees is being planned from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, February 17th at the Southside Oroville Community Center, 2959 Lower Wyandotte Rd., Oroville.

On the anniversary of last year’s spillway evacuation, The Citizens for a Better Oroville would like to invite the community to come together for a night of celebration, solidarity, and remembrance. Although the evacuation caused much worry and sorrow for our town and others, it also strengthened our bond as a community. We have seen what we can accomplish in the face of adversity and we have new hope for what we will accomplish together. New hope for our future. New hope for Oroville.

The Citizens for a Better Oroville is a non-partisan PAC made up of local individuals with common goals: to support future Oroville City Council candidates that are focused on the betterment of Oroville and Holding DWR Accountable to our community. The event has also been co-sponsored by local group Oroville Strong.

Keynote speakers for the event reflect these goals. They will be Sherriff Kory Honea, Assemblyman James Gallagher, and Supervisor Bill Connelly.
