"Every 69 seconds a woman dies of Breast Cancer," according to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure organization, which has invested $60 million in breast cancer research in more than 50 countries around the world.

Statistics such as this one and many others on breast cancer hit close to home for breast cancer survivors such as Carol Roles of Biggs.  Roles was diligent about having annual mammograms and eah year her test was clear, but in 2007, Roles was called in for the dreaded retesting and the ultrasound used showed the breasst cancer clearly.  This of course is a time for many emotions, in particular shock, especially when there is no prior history in the family.
