Gridley senior Ryan Donnahoe continues to prepare himself for his final spring track season at Gridley High, and his extra work is paying dividends. Donnahoe, having won the UC Davis shot-put competition a week ago, traveled to Fresno where he met up with the state's best at the California Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Rabobank Arena.
Donnahoe's best heave of 52'6.75," while well short of his personal best 54 ft. toss of last weekend, was still good enough for a fourth place finish in the field of the 12 top throwers in the states indoor season.
Overall, Ryan's throw of 54' 8.5” was good for second place in the state, and the improvement he has shown should only help him reach his goals of competing at the spring state track and field meet, while attracting the attention of college coaches where he hopes to continue honing his craft.
