Like so much of the equipment at Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital, the Narkomed Anesthesia workstation has been replaced by two GE Ohmeda Aespire workstations, one for each surgery suite.
The Narkomed took up much more room in the surgery suites but still works fine. It was limited in capabilities in regards to the new types of procedures the hospital is going to perform in the future.
Assistant Director of Surgery, Trent Dudley is very happy about the new technology and how much more the anesthesiologists can do with the state-of-the-art machines.
The new workstations come with a monitor in preparation for future growth in more invasive and advanced procedures, which will allow IV's to be placed close to a person's heart so that the patient can be monitored for exact blood gases pumping through the heart. This will be instrumental for procedures the hospital's operating teams want to do in the future.
Designed for clinicians throughout the world, the contemporary, compact design addresses many ergonomic considerations, including unique cable management systems and a large work surface. Controls are conveniently located whether clinicians are standing or sitting. For the entire story, please pick up a 2/3/12 edition of The Gridley Herald, or subscribe today!
