The Live Oak girls tennis team's eighth shutout victory of the year over Colusa also gave them a clean sweep of the Sacramento Valley League (9-0). The Lions are 27-1 in the SVL over the past three years. They improved to 15-2 overall this season.

For SVL individual tournament seeding purposes, coach Greg Sanchez moved Daniela Dumitras up to the number one ladder position, where she won 6-4, 6-2. This will likely place her second or third in the tournament, away from teammate Jennifer DeWitt.

DeWitt, normally Live Oak's number one player, won at number two (6-1, 6-1). Also winning in singles were Alora Sutcliffe (6-4, 6-3), Fermina Chavez (7-6 (3), 6-4), Melissa Anderson (6-2, 6-0) and Kayla Morris (6-0, 6-2).

In doubles, DeWitt and Jewel Wise won 9-7, while Manpreet Dhoot and Jaspreet Pamma won 8-2. Colusa forfeited the final doubles match.

Live Oak hosts the SVL tournament, the qualifier for the northern section meet, this Friday and Saturday at the Yuba City Racquet Club's Rancho Cortez site.

They'll also host a first round northern section division II playoff match against Gridley on October 27 at 2 p.m. The winner will advance to the section championship the next day.
