Long time area resident Bill Roberts, 66, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009, at the V.A. Hospital, in Mather, California.

Bill was born on June 20, 1943, in Prairie City, Oregon.  After graduating from Wheeler County High School, he proudly joined the United States Navy.  He was trained as an aircraft mechanic in Tennessee, and later worked for several local crop dusters.  Among his many hobbies, he enjoyed motorcycles, airplanes, scuba diving, competitive shooting and assembling airplane models.  He was an active Moose member and a charter member of the local Moose Riders Club.

His parents preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Norma; and his four children: Kelly Horn and husband, Larry, of Biggs; Bryan Roberst and wife, Pam, of Newhall, California; Terry Roberts and wife, DeEtta, of Palermo; and Barry Roberts, of Biggs.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life to the held at the Gridley Family Moose Lodge on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at 11 a.m.
