Graveside services for Geraldine V. King of Gridley will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 9, at the Biggs-Gridley Cemetery. The Rev. Ed Coker will officiate at the service. Geraldine, age 87, died on Monday, July 6, at the Biggs-Gridley Hospital.
Mrs. King was born in Hobart, Oklahoma, on August 28, 1921, and had lived in Gridley since 1943. She was employed by the Gridley Union School District as a secretary at Wilson Elementary School for 17 years, retiring in 1976. She had been an active member of the Gridley United Methodist Church since 1943.
Mrs. King is survived by her daughter, Jane Maurer of Santa Rosa, Ca., her grand-daughter, Erika Koller(Chris), of St. Joseph, Mo., grandson, Matt Maurer, of Los Angeles, Ca., and great grand-daughter, Hanna Emery of St. Joseph, Mo., as well as many relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Gridley Block Funeral Chapel between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 8. Memorials are suggested to be given to a charity of your choice or the Gridley United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
