A Graveside Service will be held Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery for Jerry George Richins, 72 of Gridley, California. He passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 at Evergreen Gridley Health Care Center of natural causes.
Jerry was born January 12, 1938 in Gridley, California. He was a life long resident of Gridley who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and canning. He served in the United States Army and was stationed stateside. He was a life long member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints having served a full time mission in England. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. Jerry will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Richins, one daughter, Rebecca Richins and one sister, Joan West.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Claudette Richins of Gridley, CA; two sons: Jerry Leon Richins and Christopher Richins both of Gridley, CA; and two daughters: Denise Richins of Gridley, CA and Dusti Lynn Singleton of Fernley, NV. He is also survived by his father, George H. Richins of Gridley, CA; two brothers: Eddie Richins of Sacramento, CA and Kyle Richins of Oroville, CA; three sisters: Connie Watson of Sweethome, OR, Joyce Wilson of Rocklin, CA and Joy Trotter of Moab, UT; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Bishop Colin Quist of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints will officiate at the service.
Interment will be held at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery.
Contributions to The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, Missionary Fund, are suggested by the family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
