A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gridley for John M. Warner, 74 of Gridley, California.  He passed away Monday, December 14, 2009 at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento of natural causes.

John was born November 25, 1935 in Sacramento California.  He was a long time resident of Gridley who owned and operated the Chevron Gas Station in Gridley for many years.  He served in the US Army, following the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany.  He was an avid bowler, enjoyed camping, fishing and caring for his roses.  He was active with the Boy Scouts of America, having earned the rank of Eagle Scout and served as a Scout Leader.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sons, John Warner and Jim Warner.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Claudia Warner of Gridley, CA; 1 son, Joe Warner & wife Elise of Pace, FL.  He is also survived by 1 sister, Peggy Bonner of Rocklin, CA; 6 grandchildren: Julie, Jennifer, Joshua, Jay, Brian, and Katelyn; and 2 great-grandchildren: Savannah and Cooper.

Father Miguel Silva of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate at the services.

Interment will be held at Silveyville Cemetery in Dixon, CA.

Contributions to the Boy Scouts of America are suggested by the family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
