A Graveside Service will be held Monday, July 13, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery for Patricia Adele Simmons Gardiner Baylis, 76, of Gridley, California. She passed away suddenly and peacefully in her sleep Monday, July 6, 2009 at her residence, of natural causes.
Patricia was born on September 9, 1932 in Lewiston, Idaho. She moved with her father Everleigh Simmons, to Biggs at the age of 4. She grew up there and graduated from Biggs High School with honors and went on to attend LaVerne College and the University of California, Berkeley.
She then worked for a period for Chevron Oil. Her first marriage took her for several years to Seattle, Washington. She then returned to California, first to Sacramento and then to Gridley, where she resided until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Baylis of Gridley, CA and her son, Douglas Gardiner of San Ramon, CA. She is also survived by 1 brother, Bruce Kennedy & wife Carol, of Rancho Cordova, CA and 1 sister, Meredith Byrne & husband Everett, of Gridley, CA; and 2 grandsons.
Rev. William Jeffries will officiate at the service.
Interment will be held at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery
Contributions to a favorite charity of choice are suggested by the family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
