A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, located on Spruce Street, Gridley, for Maxine Grace Jones, 95, of Gridley, California. She passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Live Oak Manor in Live Oak of natural causes.
Maxine was born September 28, 1914, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was a long time resident of Gridley having worked 25 years at Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She was married to Elwood Jones for 56 years. She was a lifetime member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elwood Jones in 1988; three brothers, one sister, three grandsons and two son-in-laws.
She is survived by one son: Richard (Dick Jones and wife Donna of Gridley, CA and two daughters: Marlene Lewis of Sacramento, CA and Beverly Owen of Gridley, CA. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers: Harvey Lee Smith of Oroville, CA, Darrell Smith of Portland, OR and Guybert Smith of San Diego, CA; and two sisters: Barbara Marshall of Muskogee, OK and Sue Dee Miller of Grants Pass, OR.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at 10 a.m. at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, located on Spruce Street.
Brother Dale Leishman of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints will officiate at the services.
Interment will be held at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery.
Contributions to Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital or a charity of choice are suggested by the family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
