DON FERRY

A Graveside Service was held Friday, June 12, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery for Don Ferry, 77 of Olivehurst, California.  He passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Rideout Medical Center in Marysville of natural causes.

Don was born June 7, 1932 in Irwan, Iowa.  He was a long time resident of Marysville having worked as a heavy equipment operator and most recently at the Linda WalMart as a greeter in the garden center.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid sports fan, especially for the Sacramento Kings.  He also enjoyed towing trailers at E9 RV in Yuba City.  He volunteered many hours at the Gridley Gleaners.

He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Ferry, 1 brother, Richard Ferry and 1 son, Donnie Ferry.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Selma Ferry of Olivehurst, California; 1 son, Michael Ferry of Colusa, California; 2 daughters: Rochelle Duty of Williams, California and Sharon Berlin of Willows, California; his mother, Helen Ferry of Burney, California; 2 step-sons and 2 step-daughters.  He is also survived by 1 brother, Myron Ferry of Kelseyville, California and 3 sisters: Pat Brockman of Oregon, Coleene Evich of Vacaville, California and Loraine Gaylord of Fall River Mills, California; and 6 grandchildren.

A Visitation was held Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M.

Pastor Bennie Cryer of the Church of Christ in Olivehurst  officiated the services.

Interment was held at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
