At her request, no services will be held for Frances Marie (Fisher) Gentry, 95 of Live Oak, California. She passed quietly away on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at the Yuba City Care Center in Yuba City of natural causes.
Frances was born May 14, 1914 in San Jacinto, California. Frances has lived in the California cities of Silver Lake, Redlands, Sierra Madre, Pasadena and San Gabriel. She had been a resident of Live Oak for the last 36 years. She graduated from Redlands High School in 1930 and San Bernadino Business College in 1932. She was a bookkeeper, a homemaker and rancher with her family. Frances remained an active member of the Connecticut Society of Genealogists, Amapola-Vernon Lyman Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Oak Leaf Parlor Native Daughters of the Golden West, Past Presidents Association # 29 of Sutter County, the Feather River Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, a member of the Community Memorial Museum and Sutter County Historical Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James E. Blythe Gentry; her parents, Edgar Richard Fisher and Marie Rose (Lauren) Fisher; a sister, May Elizabeth (Fisher) Dieden; and a brother, Arthur Fisher.
Frances is survived by 1 brother, Kenneth Lauren Fisher of Mystic, CT; 2 daughters: Blythe Gentry of Gridley, CA and Meg (Gentry) Burgin of Live Oak, CA. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Private inurnment will be held at Live Oak Cemetery, Live Oak, CA.
Memorial contributions to The Community Memorial Museum, 1333 Butte House Road, Yuba City, CA 95993 are suggested by the family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
