Jodi Marie Martin-Burr passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 at her residence in Gridley, California.
Jodi was born on September 19, 1965 in Queens, New York to Carolyn Weaver-Martin and David Kibler. Jodi spent her childhood in Capitola and Placerville, California. She was a 1983 graduate of El Dorado High School and graduated from California State University Chico in 1993 with a BA in Liberal Studies.
Jodi was a dedicated and compassionate teacher at Sycamore Middle School for the last 25 years. She looked for opportunities to teach, inspire and serve students and others in and out of the classroom. If a student were hungry or a dress needed hemming for graduation, she took action, including purchasing school supplies and yearbooks for those in need.
Jodi belonged to the Catholic Church. She truly loved being a mom and spending time with her family. She especially adored her grandchildren and took every opportunity to spoil them. Jodi was an amazing cook and loved to sew. She enjoyed gardening and was an animal lover.
She is survived by her children: Anna Forrester (Timothy), of Sacramento and Savina Havens (Jordan), of Rancho Cordova; grandchildren: Emily, Enzo and Rocco; siblings: DeAnna Martin-Skolnik, Christine Martin-Edwards, Renee Poole, Bryan Martin, Alex Tarvin-Kibler and Dan Tarvin-Kibler.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Jodi touched are invited to attend a Celebration of Life in her honor at the Guardian Building at 200 E. Spruce St. in Gridley from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018.
