Christian Souza was born in 1965 and passed away in 2010.

An accomplished artist, writer, musician, actor and film producer, he was born and grew up in Gridley, California.

He excelled at an early age. While attending Gridley High School, he won the American Film Institute’s first nationwide film search for “Visions of the U.S.”

In high school he formed a band and was active in sports and student government. He enjoyed backpacking in the Marble Mountains Wilderness with his father, brothers and friends. He attended Butte College and CSU, Chico, ultimately graduating in theatre from CSU, Fresno.

Christian left us far too soon but led an amazing life and was known by many for how much he cared for others.

He is survived by his parents, Earl and Marilyn (Cummins) Souza; brothers Aaron and Jeff (Robin) Souza; aunt Myrna (Cummins) Montgomery; and his cousins: Denise (Montgomery) Bell (Ralph), Erin Moriarty and Patrick Cummins.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., December 8, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gridley, California. Arrangements entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel (see comprehensive obituary at ramseyfuneralhomes.com).

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., December 9, 2017 at the Canyon Oaks Country Club in Chico, California. Please RSVP, if possible, for the Celebration of Life by December 6, 2017 to jeff@tehamaenvironmental.com.
