A Mystery Theatre Dinner is being planned by the Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital Foundation for the "Pink Passion for Digital Mammography campaign."
The foundation began raising money March 1, 2010, with students of Sycamore School and Gridley High School gathering pennies. Sycamore School alone raised over $1,300. With individual donations made, the total raised in March was $20,000. Local firemen volunteered their time last Saturday to "Fill The Boot," raising $2,035.
The goal of the foundation is to raise at least $300,000 for the purchase of the latest technology in mammography which will help ensure early detection of breast cancer.
The date of the dinner is Thursday, May 6, 2010, and will be held at the Brown family home at 499 Hazel Street.
The chicken dinner, prepared by Jim Jackson and friends will precede the entertainment, the Pink Panther Mystery Theatre along with beautiful antique items for an opportunity drawing.
Dinner tickets are $35 each and available at Gridley Country Ford or the Hospital.
Sponsorships for the dinner are greatly appreciated with the "Pink Panther," a $100 basket sponsorship; "Hot Pink" $250 sponsorship which includes two dinner tickets, recognition in The Gridley Herald and at the event; "Pink Passion" $500 with name recognition at the event and The Gridley Herald, four tickets to the event and finally, the "Pink Diamond" $1,000 with sponsor cards on all tables and a table for eight.
Beautiful gift items are being assembled by foundation members with some geared for Mothers Day gifting since Mothers Day is the following Sunday. Items available will include an Oscar de la Renta robe and fragrance; assorted collections of potted plants for patios; Cristalino Rosi Brut, cava; a unique collectible, Liberty Classic jigsaw puzzle - Camille Monet in the Garden, Claude Monet; a rose basket for the rose gardeners, and bath linens, bath salts and champagne for two. A fly fishing basket is being assembled for the men, among other items. A grilling basket is going to be available for those who like to grill along with a Spring Italian "Pantry" basket. A "New Baby" basket is being donated by Gridley Country Ford.
