As you may have heard, “Olive Butte County Loves the Fair!”  The Butte County Fair is scheduled for August 26 - 30, 2009, and has many wonderful things to offer this year!  Most recently, the First Commodity Premier that will be showcasing olive products, wine and beer tasting has been added to the schedule of events.  They are also very excited to announce that the 2009 Butte County Fair will be hosting the Budweiser Clydesdales!  On Saturday we will be calling out all of the cowboys for the Bull Riding and an evening of Honky Tonk!  Oh, and don’t forget the annual Junior Livestock Auction that will take place on  Saturday as well as all of the events that take place among the youth of Butte County that lead up to the JLA.  Please come out and support Butte County and its youth by participating in these events, or become an exhibitor at this years fair.

The fair is currently seeking entries for all of the competitions that are offered this year.  They are offering the Local Team Roping, and as always the livestock show that provides endless opportunities within the community.  Have you grown a superior flower or commodity that you would like to showcase?  What about those beautiful artwork pieces that have taken so much time and effort? What a wonderful place to show those off to the community.  Please take into consideration the traditions that are associated with the Butte County Fair and help us to continue those for further generations.

You can obtain entries and a guidebook at www.buttecountyfair.org, or by stopping by the office at 199 East Hazel Street, or at the Gridley Herald at 630 Washington, in Gridley.  If you have any questions feel free to give the fair a call at (530) 846-3626.
