The City of Gridley Recreation Department and Community Action Agency of Butte County will be hosting a “Grand Opening” for the newly renovated recreation center in Manuel Vierra Park (196 Washington Street) for its Senior Nutrition & Lunch Program from 10:00 am-12:30 pm on Monday June 15, 2009. Come and enjoy playing cards at 10:00 AM, Speakers at 11:00 AM and a delicious Honey Dijon Chicken Lunch at 12:00 PM ($2.50 suggested donation).
The Senior Nutrition Lunch Program is a program that the Gridley Recreation Department and the Community Action Agency Started in late of 2007 to provide a nutritious mid-day meal for needy seniors 60 years or older. The program is very important in the fact that it offers seniors a well-balanced meal, activities, education and lunchtime companionship.
