The American Association of University Women members received a helping hand serving hot dogs and potato salad at the Gridley Daddow Park Farmers’ Market on Tuesday, June 30. Claudia Martinez of Live Oak and Danielle Dowell from Gridley, showed their appreciation for being offered a scholarship to attend an AAUW sponsored Tech Trek Camp at Sonoma State University, by offering to serve dinners to hungry market attendees for three hours.
AAUW, FOCUS and Live Oak Lions funded scholarships to four seventh grade girls to attend the Science/Math camp for one week. The girls recently returned from camp on June 27. Anyone interested in learning more about AAUW or Tech Trek may call AAUW President, Doris Pettersen, 846-2030.
