The Sutter Butte Flood Control Agency is moving forward with long-awaited plans to improve 24 miles of unstable levees along the Feather River, from Thermalito Afterbay to Yuba City. Adding urgency to the agency's efforts are ongoing FEMA and DWR floodplain mapping, a predicted rainy season that could trigger moderate to sever flooding, and the opportunity to secure at least $120 million in state funding for the project.
