WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT GROUND BREAKING—The City of Gridley held a ground breaking event at the City's Waste Water Treatment Plant on East Gridley Road on Tuesday with Vice Mayor Bruce Johnson, Ronald Tacket, USDA Rural Development Area director, Mayor Jerry Fichter and Dr. Glenda Humiston, State Director for U.S. Agricultural Rural Development doing the honors. The $5 million expansion is to be funded through a loan and grant combination through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The expansion will also include replacing sections of sewer main. Dr. Humiston remarked that the project could not be done without Federal Stimulus money.

Mayor Jerry Fichter served as Master of Ceremonies Tuesday, as the City of Gridley held a ground breaking ceremony, complete with gold painted shovels at the Gridley Waster Water Treatment Plant.
