Biggs City Council discussed possible edits, additions or modifications to the City's existing Code ordinance dealing with the cultivation of medical marijuana at their regular Council meeting held Monday, January 23, 2012.

City Planner Scott Friend asked for direction from Council members with consideration of possibly more explicit regulation.

Biggs Municipal Code prohibits the cultivation of Medical Marijuana where visible and odiferous. The cultivation of medical marijuana is prohibited except in a “fully enclosed and secure structure.”

Council members requested possible amendments to the Muncipal code to make the regulations more clear and explicit.

Friend explained, “Within fully enclosed structure means not visible from right-of-way or neighboring property. The Cities of Biggs and Gridley were in the forefront of this issue over three years ago.”

Friend told Council members he was not formally asking to modify the code at that time but was interested in what the Council members want. For the full story, please pick up a 1/27/12 edition of The Gridley Herald.
