As the Oroville Dam Spillway project continues, it was announced this week that Oro Dam Blvd. East between Glen Drive and Canyon Drive will re-opened starting Monday, July 30. Reconstruction of the main spillway is visible from Oro Dam Blvd. East and there are designated turnouts for folks interested in stopping to check out the ongoing, 24-7 work.
To ensure the safety of motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians, the speed limit has been reduced to 25 mph and no vehicles are permitted to stop on the road except at designated turnouts.
Construction to install underground utility lines will begin Monday, August 6 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. One way traffic controls will be in effect as work occurs both on Glen Drive from the Oroville Field Division offices to Oro Dam Blvd. East as well as on Oro Dam Blvd. East from Canyon Drive to Glen Drive. Residents and visitors are encouraged to reduce speeds and watch out for pedestrians and workers.
Remember, the Oroville spillways area is still under construction and may temporarily close the road or transition to one-way traffic as work continues.
