The need for donations for the annual Fourth of July Celebration is even more necessary as the city celebrates 115 years of existence on this day. What a beautiful send-off for a great fun-filled day to have a magnificent show of incredible fireworks to honor an important anniversary such as this.
Just like past years, if all the money is used for this year's event, there will be no start-up money for next year. Please send donations made out to Biggs Festival Events, PO Box 1192, Biggs, Ca 95917. Any donations of $50 or more are tax deductible but all size donations will be appreciated.
The day begins with a big breakfast of scrambled eggs, Black Bear Sweet Cream Pancakes, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, juice and coffee for just $10 at the Community Hall on B Street from 7 to 10 a.m.
The parade is always a big hit with many coming to see the different entries starting at 10:30 a.m. Contact Whitney Pike at 530-870-6205 or Marci Shadd at 530-682-7929 to enter.
New this year will be The Tackle Box catering dinner with all kinds of great choices including pulled pork sandwiches.
There will be plenty of music thanks to Legend Soundworks so be ready for some great entertainment.
Kids will have eight water slides to choose from to cool off and of course the always very popular, exciting fireworks starting at dusk thanks to Edson Smith and his crew.
The event starts at 6 p.m., so bring your lawn chairs, mosquito repellent and your appetite!
