The City of Gridley is advertising for an opening on the City Council for anyone who would like to help shape Gridley's future that lives within the city limits.

A two-and-a-half year term is available due to the recent resignation of Councilman Gary Davidson due to work constraints.

The appointed Council member will hold office until November 20. If interested in the opportunity to serve Gridley's residents, visitors and businesses please apply by visiting online gridley.ca.us and submit the application to the City Clerk by May 24.

"This may be an ideal opportunity for those who have previously considered the opportunity but considered a four year term and running an election campaign to be a daunting prospect," stated City Administrator Paul Eckert.

The City Council plans to make their decision on June 4. City Council meetings are held the first and third Mondays at 6 p.m., at City Hall.
