Live Oak Mayor Aleksander M. Tica announced Thursday morning that the Live Oak City Council has voted to remove City Manager Jim Goodwin from his post. The separation is without cause and in agreement with the terms of Mr. Goodwin’s employment agreement.

“Our City Manager has served this city well for almost 10 years and we appreciate his service,“ stated Mayor Tica. “We have informed Mr. Goodwin we are seeking a different style of leadership more aligned with the current City Council members.”

“I am grateful for my opportunity to serve this community,” commented Mr. Goodwin. “Live Oak is blessed with a great staff who will continue providing excellent service as the Council moves through the process of selecting a new City Manager. I wish the staff, residents and City Council much success in the years ahead.”

Mr. Goodwin’s last day will be Friday, April 7.

Goodwin came to the City of Live Oak in August, 2008
