The Gridley High School baseball team improved to 8-1-1 this past weekend, going a perfect 4-0 at the American Christian Academy tournament up in Redding.

The Bulldogs opened the tournament last Thursday with a 9-2 win over Central Valley. Brian Wilkerson scored a pair of runs for Gridley in the game.

Gridley played a second game on Thursday, besting Las Plumas, 11-1 in a contest halted after five innings.  Triston Platter went 3-for-3 with a run scored. 

Play continued for Gridley on Friday with a 15-1 win over Yreka. A big six-run third inning staked the Bulldogs to a 9-1 lead. They iced the game with six more runs in the fifth.

Lance Santerre went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs to lead the Gridley attack against Yreka. R. Peters was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs wrapped up tournament play with another run-rule win, this one a 12-0 victory over Fortuna. 

Gridley got three-hit games from Lance Santerre, who went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, and R. Peters, who went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Ty Cota was 2-for-4 with a runs scored and two RBIs.

The Bulldogs were slated to travel to Orland on Tuesday.
