Gridley FFA has received many "firsts" over their many years and Saturday, March 31 is another one for the books. Gridley FFA will host their first-ever Field Days on March 31, 2018.
Chair Taylor Santerre with the held of Emma Sannar is in charge of the all-day event open to any-where from 500 to 1,000 students.
Different schools from all over California includ-ing junior colleges will be attending and competing in 11 different contests including ag sales, livestock judging, floral, farm power, AET record books, ag mechanics, ag vet skills, fruit tree judging, vegetable judging, small engine and light horse judging. With 11 contests, a total of 11 buckles are needed for the winners so sponsorships are important and a great way to show support.
With such a big event, the light horse and livestock judging will be held at the Butte County Fairgrounds. The other nine competitions will be held at the Gridley High campus.
Sign-in will be at 7 a.m., with competitions starting at 8 a.m.
Gridley Wrestling will be barbecuing tri-tip for sandwiches and the FFA will include rolls, chips, drinks and dessert for lunch.
I takes a lot of work to pull off such a big endeavor and sponsorship packages have been generously purchased for $100-$250 sponsors who will receive a company ad/logo placed in the Field Day Program and featured on Instagram and facebook; $200 Buckle Sponsors will have their company ad/logo placed in the program and will be featured on Instagram and facebook, receive two Gridley FFA hats and t-shirts with the buckle presented by your company; Sponsors of $251 - $500 will have their company ad/ logo placed in the program, featured on Instagram and facebook, receive two Gridley FFA hats and t- shirts; the $501 and higher sponsors will receive their company ad/logo placed in the program, featured on Instagram and facebook, receive two Gridley FFA hats and t-shirts, a banner with company name/logo on display in FFA Field Day Awards Arena and an engraved Field Day tumbler.
Congratulations Taylor and the Gridley FFA along with advisors Nick Dreesmann, Jamie Kaslin and Matt Reed.
